University Laptop Program

Salve Regina's recommended laptop program is designed to accommodate students with varying needs. The program offers two standardized HP laptops and two Apple laptops to all incoming freshmen and eligible transfer students, with a focus on improving the learning experience and collaborative abilities for all students interested in participating.

To facilitate this program, Salve Regina has formed partnerships with HP and Apple to offer students top-of-the-line laptops at an affordable cost. The recommended HP laptops are equipped with a pre-loaded software package designed to offer students the basic tools they will need while attending the University, along with warranty and accidental damage coverage for a full four years. The recommended Apple laptops are equipped with a three-year warranty. The necessary software package can be purchased from the laptop center for a significantly reduced price. An accidental warranty is not available from Apple directly; it can be purchased from a third party vendor on your own.

These services include hardware repair and replacement deemed necessary by the manufacturer, along with warranty-based services and accidental damage repairs for the HP laptops.
  • Each HP laptop is delivered with a standard Salve Regina software image, ensuring that the laptop is configured properly and the software is ready for use. It also allows support staff the ability to quickly restore student computers to their original state should they have any issues during the academic year.
  • Each Apple laptop is delivered with the manufacturer's software image, ensuring that the laptop is configured properly. Necessary software will need to be purchased and installed before it is ready to be used academically.
  • The recommended laptop program allows participating students access to the same technology as their instructors, who utilize this technology as they produce new course material and plan course activities.
